Privacy Policy

Overview

MarkBridge is a browser extension that syncs bookmarks across Chromium-based browsers. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data MarkBridge accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collection

MarkBridge does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server owned or operated by us. We have no servers, no analytics, and no tracking.

Data Storage

Your bookmarks are stored in one of two locations, chosen by you:

  • A private GitHub Gist accessible only with your personal access token.
  • Your Google Drive hidden app folder, accessible only by this extension.

Your credentials (GitHub token or Google OAuth token) are stored locally in your browser's chrome.storage.local and never leave your device.

Third-Party Services

MarkBridge communicates only with:

  • api.github.com — to read and write your private Gist.
  • www.googleapis.com — to read and write to your Google Drive app folder.

No other external services are contacted.

Permissions

  • bookmarks — to read and write your browser bookmarks.
  • storage — to save your settings and credentials locally.
  • alarms — to schedule automatic background syncs.
  • notifications — to notify you of sync status.
  • identity — to authenticate with Google Drive via OAuth.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
